‘Twas the week before Christmas, and all through my mind

Every gift had been tracked, and scheduled on time.

The tree was half lit with a string that went out

I grimaced and fussed, and started to pout.

Last minute shopping would not be allowed

A threat and a promise I too this year avowed.

But alas there I was ordering one last present

A trip to the store was simply far too unpleasant.

The hustle and bustle will continue until Christmas Eve.

It’s a yearly tradition that persists without reprieve.

I’ve learned there’s no such thing as a perfect Holiday

So I’ve stopped all the stressing and instead I pray

For a joyful and peaceful, prosperous year

For my family and friends and those I hold dear.
