Christmas Lights & Puddles  It doesn’t feel like Christmas, and it certainly doesn’t look like Christmas.  In fact, the twinkling, festive lights reflecting off the many puddles is somewhat depressing.  Burl and Bing seem to be singing into great voids, and their voices fall flat upon the muddy earth.  The gray, dank days and fogged filled nights do not accurately set the tone for the Holidays.  My Christmas spirit is waning, and ever so wanting.

Volunteering Hands  But this can be easily remedied.  Time, as you know, is the greatest gift we have.  Why not set aside some time this holiday season to volunteer?  There are many great organizations out there doing good work, so why not get involved?  Call upon your passions, skills, and experience and put them to work for a good cause.  Not sure where to start?  If you live in the area, DuPage County has an awesome site, linking volunteers to many of the areas’ needs.  You can even create a profile to help better match you to opportunities that fit your schedule and align with your passions and beliefs.  Go to Giving DuPage today, and I promise the spirit of the season will be ignited once again, and the time you give will be rewarded handsomely in your hearts and souls the whole year through.

“You give but little when you give of your possessions.  It is when you give of yourself that you truly give.”
