Last week’s blog seems like eons ago, and each day bleeds into the next without much pomp or circumstance.  I’m in a funk.

Many people say it’s the weather or stunning lack of sun.  Perhaps.  Some say it’s normal and short-lived.  Hope so.  But what’s a person to do smack-dab in the middle of Winter without so much as a secondary holiday to see you through?

I know what you’re thinking.  You’re thinking I’m a bit of a hypocrite for singing the praises of Winter.  I thought you loved it, you’re saying to yourself.  Well, I do, but each of us are allowed so many funks per year, and I’m sorry to say, I’ve hit my first in the very first month of 2015.  Not a great start, I know.

But everyone needs something to look forward to.  Be it a day off, a dinner out, a birthday, or a weekend get-away.  We need something to help break the monotony and swerve us gently off the course of the daily doldrums.  Spring is the answer.

I don’t mean simply thinking about it, I mean planning for it.  Start grabbing seed and garden catalogues.  Jot down ideas and wish lists.  Catch up on gardening techniques.  Perhaps this is the year you’d like to start a vegetable garden,  or plant a privacy hedge, or revamp the front of your home with some show-stopping, curb-appealing landscaping?  Dream big.  Design a budget.  Did you know many landscape jobs, like redesigns and overhauls can be done in phases?  Before you know it, your creative juices will be flowing, and the excitement and anticipation will well up in your belly until a smile crosses your lips.  This, of course, could also be gas.

As we all know, time has a tendency to fly by, and when everyone is scrambling come March, you’ll be way ahead of the game.  Sweeney’s can help, and we like you, are already thinking of Spring and planning for its arrival.  Let’s discuss your plans and dreams today and schedule some time together.

“No winter lasts forever; no spring skips its turn.”
